The garlicky flavor, melty cheese, and soft, fluffy bread come together to make such a satisfying appetizer or side.
This cheesy sourdough garlic bread is one of the best garlic bread recipes I’ve ever had.
The garlic and parmesan pair with the slightly tart sourdough for a zesty, delicious homemade garlic bread.
INGREDIENTS
1 loaf of sourdough bread, uncut
½ cup salted butter (unsalted butter will work too), softened
4 cloves of garlic
2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley, plus more for garnish
¼ cup parmesan cheese
Sea salt to taste
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Preheat your oven to 350° F. Slice your bread in half lengthwise and set aside.
- Combine the rest of the ingredients in a small bowl and mix well.
- Spread the garlic butter onto the cut side of each piece of bread.
- Lay the loaves butter side up on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake in the oven for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and cut into 2- to 3-inch pieces. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
How do you keep leftover garlic bread?
Leftover garlic bread can be stored in an airtight container or wrapped in foil at room temperature for a couple of days. If you need to store the bread longer, it’s best to freeze the bread.
